GParted-Clonezilla Pocket LiveCD is a multi-boot livecd booting off GRUB. It can load the last GParted-Livecd or Clonezilla to backup file system localy or through the network. Clonezilla supported ext2, ext3, reiserfs, xfs, jfs of GNU/Linux, and FAT, NTFS file system. Unlike Partimage or ntfsclone, which only for partitions, Clonezilla containing some other programs, can save and restore not only partitions, but also a whole disk. Unlike G4U or G4L, if file system is supported, Clonezilla only used blocks in harddisk are saved and restored. This increase the clone efficiency. For unsupported file system, sector-to-sector copy is done by dd in Clonezilla. Gparted-Clonezilla 2.3 is based on gparted-livecd-0.3.4-11 and clonezilla-1.0.7-18. Details about those releases maybe found here for GParted, and here for Clonezilla. Feetures of GParted 0.3.4-5 [p/n 01.273.034.51] is included in GParted-Clonezilla 1.7 [1] The actual copy is performed by 'dd'. [2] You need kernelsupport for this filesystem if you want to grow it (module needs to be loaded). [3] Although it's not possible to shrink an xfs filesystem directly, you can shrink it using GParted's copy functionality. [4] Native available through libparted.
